My Gear Journey

Every photographer starts out with some sort of camera to capture a moment in time, to be remembered either in a print or now on our digital devices. In the digital world, most of those images get stored on a hard drive amidst the hundreds if not thousands of other photos that never get sorted. It is a daunting task to go through, organize, and delete or save the pictures you take. But it is in that process, we learn to understand the strengths and weaknesses of our camera system and our knowledge of how to use that system.

Over the years, my creative focus has evolved into landscape and wildlife photography although I enjoy taking photos of my family and always have my camera at hand when we travel. I have learned that no matter what camera system you are using, you can create amazing images. That being said, as I have expanded my knowledge and skill level, the quality and speed of the equipment I use really does make a difference when shooting in challenging situations.
